Hannah & Dec – A Romantic Destination Wedding in Italy

Some weddings stay with you long after you’ve left.

Hannah and Dec’s Tuscany destination wedding at Quercia al Poggio was one of those the kind that feels less like a schedule of events and more like a beautifully written story.

This was possibly my favourite wedding of 2025. From the views to the atmosphere, the people, the pace everything felt thoughtful, warm and deeply romantic in that way only Italy seems to do so effortlessly.

An Italian Wedding That Felt Like a Painting

Set among rolling Tuscan hills, the views from Quercia al Poggio were honestly breathtaking. The landscape stretched out endlessly, layered in soft greens and warm tones, so beautiful it felt almost unreal like standing inside a painting.

There’s something about Italian weddings that goes beyond aesthetics. It’s the emphasis on family, food, love and togetherness. This wedding had all of that in abundance, without ever feeling forced or staged.

A Wedding Weekend in the Heart of Tuscany

I photographed not only the wedding day, but also the pre-wedding evening and the post-wedding pool party, which made the entire experience feel immersive and relaxed.

The pre-wedding celebration was unforgettable. As the sun set over the Tuscan hills, festoon lights flickered on, a pizza oven fired up and long tables filled with food that somehow tasted even better than you expect in Italy. It was casual, joyful, and full of anticipation the perfect beginning to the weekend.

Hannah and Dec were nothing but polite, kind and sooo in love. They’re a gentle, considerate couple, completely attentive to one another and photographing them felt natural and effortless.

A Warmly Lit Courtyard Dinner Under the Stars

The wedding day itself unfolded slowly and beautifully. Dinner was held in a softly lit courtyard, bathed in warm light as Italian music played gently in the background. Guests chatted, laughed and lingered at the tables no rush, no need to move things along.

It’s hard to properly explain the atmosphere of this evening, other than to say it was utterly charming. Calm, intimate and full of soul the kind of setting that makes you forget about time entirely.

Thoughtful Details & Timeless Style

Hannah wore a gown by Jane Hill Bridal and it suited her perfectly elegant, modern and completely timeless. Everything about the styling felt considered but never overdone, allowing the setting and the emotion of the day to shine.

The wedding was planned beautifully by Ilaria, whose calm, accommodating approach made the entire weekend flow seamlessly. From a photographer’s perspective, working with a planner like her makes such a difference everything felt easy, supportive and well thought through.

Photographing Destination Weddings in Tuscany

This wedding is a perfect example of why couples choose Tuscany for their destination wedding. The scenery, the food, the pace of life it all encourages connection and presence.

I photographed the weekend with a documentary approach, allowing moments to unfold naturally while capturing the softness, warmth and emotion that defined the celebration. I truly felt so lucky to be a part of it.
